It is time to blow away what no longer belongs with us. The Wind Moon brings transition, driving away the old and welcoming the new in harmony and balance. As this Esbat comes with Ostara and the equinox, its energy balances the physical and astral worlds. To welcome the new, we must release the old: clean the house, discard what is no longer needed, and let go of objects and memories that hold pain.
RITUAL SUGGESTION
I recommend cleaning the house and then taking an herbal bath to purify yourself.
Materials: a chalice of water, a cup of wine, one black candle, one white candle, lavender, mint, or jasmine incense, paper and pen, fruit, and bread. Decorate as you wish and open the magic circle. Breathe deeply and concentrate on the air entering your body and filling you with life. Connect with the Moon, thank the Great Mother, tell her what your heart desires, and ask her blessing.
Place the cup of water on your writing side and fill it with imagined light and purifying energy. Place the wine on the other side and fill it with vital and invigorating power. Light the black candle on the side that does not write and say:
May the flame lit in you turn to ash what no longer belongs to me. This is my will.
Write everything you want to turn to ash and cast the paper into the candle flame. Drink some of the water, feeling it purify and illuminate you; leave a portion for the Gods. Light the white candle and ask its flame to carry your requests for growth and evolution into the forces of the universe. Drink the wine, feeling it energize your body and nourish your spirit. Put on music and dance; celebrate the cycle that ended and the one that has begun. Give thanks and close the circle. Leave the Gods' portion until the candles go out, or for three hours. It is done; bless your ritual!
