Storm Moon

2 min read 9 views

This moon received this name because at this time there is a lot of rain and storms which, in turn, fertilize the earth, bringing forth new life! For this reason, in some traditions this Esbat is also known as SEED MOON.
This celebration is connected to the Sabbath of the season, which is Imbolc, and because of this energetic connection they share the same properties of transmutation and purification. It is not uncommon to see Witches take advantage of this harmony and celebrate the Imbolc Sabbath and the Storm Esbat on the same day.

COMMEMORATING THE ESBATH
- We will need many candles.
- Flowers to offer to the Goddess
- Lavender incense (or another flower essence that brings you tranquility and joy)
- A cauldron with water (or a vessel that can withstand high temperatures)
- Decorate as you wish.
Cast the Circle
- Begin by greeting the Great Mother. Give thanks for the new cycle that begins, for having endured the winters of life, and for all the new learning that is still to come... (offer the flowers with love)
- Light the candles, visualizing that you are lighting the very fire of life: in the depths of the earth, a seed awakens. With each candle lit, and the more light you create, the more this seed grows beneath the silent earth; in communion with the Mother Goddess, you feel life returning!
- Now sit beside the cauldron. If possible, look at the Moon and connect with it, or simply visualize it and its power bathing you and filling you with energy!

- Once this is done, place your hands over the cauldron and say:

Blessed is this water, for its source is the womb of the Goddess herself, and I, as her daughter, ask her to grant me her divine protection!

- Take some in your hands and pour it over your head
- Dip your finger in the water and, with your wet fingers, make the pentagram sign on your forehead, then on your chest, belly, and nape.
- Give thanks once again for the coming of the light and the teachings of darkness
- Now it is time to eat and drink the supper of the Gods! (REMEMBER TO LEAVE THEIR PORTION SET ASIDE)
- At the end, leave the food on the altar for three hours or until the candle burns out, and then return it to the earth by burying it.
- It is done!
