What is Neptune retrograde in Aries?
Neptune is the planet of imagination, of the ideal, of the dissolving of boundaries and also of confusion. Retrograde describes the apparent retreat between the retrograde station and the direct station.
In Aries, Neptune glues the dream to the impulse to act. It brings the wish to save, to start a cause, to fall in love with a version of yourself that does not yet exist. In the retrograde, that image returns to be looked at up close. What seemed a calling may be tiredness dressed up as a mission. What seemed intuition may be a story you tell so as not to say no.
Questions of the cycle: which ideal I use so as not to look at a fact; where I dissolve myself to please or to play the hero; which thin boundary I need back.
What this is not
It is not a phase of illusion, as if everything you feel were a lie. It is also not an invitation to get lost in a practice with no ground, no substance, or a promise of instant awakening. Neptune retrograde does not ask for more mist. It asks you to name the mist.
In daily life, while it lasts
A decision of ideal, cause, love, spiritual restart, a large promise, asks for a fact beside it. Who is involved, what it costs in time, what happens if you say no. Neptune retrograde in Aries blurs precisely the hurry to give yourself over. Do not erase the intuition: write it by day, in a short sentence, and check whether the body agrees after eating and sleeping. Art, prayer and imagination remain welcome. What does not fit is using the dream so as not to look at a bill, a limit or a request you already know.

Materials. A bowl of water. A green or navy-blue candle, a firm candlestick. Paper and a pen. A towel to dry your hands. Very little incense, or none, if the smoke scatters you.

Step by step (25 to 35 minutes, solo)
- Enter. Hands in the water for a moment. I enter the time of Neptune retrograde to see, not to dissolve.
- Light. Neptune recedes in Aries. I separate ideal, impulse and fact.
- Three lines. An ideal that pulls me. The fact that this ideal avoids. A boundary of one sentence: I do not do X without Y.
- Water. Wet the tips of your fingers and touch your forehead. It is not a baptism of someone else’s tradition: it is your own gesture of returning to the body. Dry your hands.
- One check. Choose a verifiable fact for the next three days: a direct conversation, a number, a deadline. Write it down. A dream without a check becomes theatre.
- Offering. Leave the bowl until the end of the rite and then return the water to the earth or to the sink, with a thank you. An offering is not payment.
- Close. Put out the candle. Keep only the boundary of one sentence. Reread it in three days, in daylight, not in the small hours.
